How do I request a copy of my records?

One of the many enquires we often receive through the casework mailbox is relating to access to records from government and criminal justice departments.

We have provided a draft template below which you can modify and use for your personal use when requesting copies of records held by an organisation.

    In case you missed it, following on from last month's successful launch of the Westminster Commission on Miscarriages of Justice's report, the APPG Chair, Barry Sheerman MP, has secured a Westminster Hall Debate on the topic of strengthening the Criminal Cases Review Commission. 

  • Judicial Review: Proposals for Reform Consultation

    The Independent Review of Administrative Law (‘the Review’) was established on the 31st July 2020 to examine trends in Judicial Review and to deliberate on any recommendations for reform on key areas: codification, non-justiciability, the grounds of review and remedies, and procedure. The focus on these areas is reflected in the structure of the Review’s Report  and the Panel have made recommendations on each area.

    Autism Injustice is a support and campaign group of autistic people and their families/friends, set up to hold Government and other public bodies accountable for injustices and abuses against autistic adults and children.

    There should be an independent inquiry into the treatment of suspects and offenders with cognitive and behavioural difficulties, in particular those with Autism, by the Criminal Justice System.

  • Autism in the CJS Micro Site Launched

    We have been working really hard of late to gather information and content for our new Autism in the CJS Micro Site which is now live for you to view here.

    In the coming days, we plan to release new features on the site including an online community forum for members of the public, professionals, and others interested in the field of Autism and the Criminal Justice System. It will also contain a Criminal Justice Directory of Autism Services which we hope you will add to and recommend reliable and trustworthy sources to be added for your local area.
